Digi Boost to Youth Work
The Digi Boost project was hosted by the Student Era organization. Its overall aim was to provide innovation in distance learning and an effective alternative path to wider opportunities for non-formal learning. The project sought to improve the digital competencies and skills of youth workers, enabling them to navigate and lead in an increasingly digital world.
By equipping youth workers with the necessary tools, knowledge, and methodologies, Digi Boost aimed to strengthen their ability to support, engage, and empower young people—especially those facing social, economic, or geographic barriers. The project also focused on enhancing the institutional capacity of youth organizations, encouraging cross-sector cooperation, and promoting the use of digital tools in youth work practices.
Through workshops, online modules, collaborative exchanges, and the development of innovative resources, Digi Boost fostered a dynamic learning environment where youth workers could grow professionally, connect with peers across Europe, and bring back valuable insights to their local communities. Ultimately, the project contributed to the broader goal of inclusive education, equal access to opportunities, and active youth participation in shaping a resilient, future-ready society.

The Digi Boost project was hosted by the Student Era organization with the overarching goal of introducing innovation in the field of distance learning and creating effective alternative pathways to expand access to non-formal education. It specifically targeted the enhancement of digital competencies and professional skills among youth workers, while also building the long-term capacity of youth organizations to support, guide, and empower young people in an ever-evolving digital landscape.
In response to the challenges posed by rapid technological change, digital exclusion, and the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic on education, Digi Boost positioned itself as a forward-looking initiative. It focused on equipping youth workers with practical digital tools, methodologies, and pedagogical strategies tailored for virtual and hybrid learning environments. This not only improved the personal development of youth workers but also strengthened their ability to deliver quality support and inclusive learning experiences to young people—particularly those from marginalized, rural, or disadvantaged backgrounds.
The project included a diverse range of activities such as interactive online training sessions, digital resource development, peer-to-peer mentoring, collaborative workshops, and transnational knowledge exchanges. These activities helped create a community of digitally skilled youth professionals capable of leading innovative educational initiatives across their regions.
Digi Boost also emphasized the importance of collaboration and shared learning by fostering partnerships between organizations from different countries and sectors. These cross-border exchanges enabled participants to learn from varied contexts, adopt best practices, and co-create new approaches to digital youth work. Furthermore, the project contributed to raising awareness about the need for accessible, inclusive, and future-oriented non-formal education systems within the broader European youth sector.
Ultimately, Digi Boost helped youth workers not only to adapt to the digital transition, but to lead it—with confidence, creativity, and purpose. It reinforced the role of non-formal education as a powerful driver of youth empowerment, participation, and social cohesion, laying the groundwork for continued growth, innovation, and impact.
